About Us

Ladakh Academy Confederation

Building a Stronger Ladakh, Together

Welcome to Ladakh Academy Confederation (LAC) — a legally recognized, Kargil-based non-governmental organization (NGO) born out of a profound commitment to uplift the educational, social, and economic landscape of Ladakh. Nestled in the heart of this challenging yet beautiful region, our organization is driven by a singular, unwavering vision: to unlock the boundless potential of our people and transform local challenges into opportunities for growth. We firmly believe that the foundation of a thriving, resilient, and forward-looking Ladakh rests upon its grassroots. A stronger future is not built overnight; it requires educated and visionary youth, empowered and skilled communities, sustainable livelihood practices, and a deep-rooted respect for our unique environment. Guided by this holistic philosophy, LAC works relentlessly across the diverse terrains of Ladakh to bridge socio-economic gaps.

We are dedicated to creating meaningful, accessible pathways for academic excellence, modern skill development, career advancement, local entrepreneurship, and community leadership. Our mission goes far beyond traditional social work. We strive to ignite a spark of self-reliance and confidence in every individual we connect with. Whether it is by guiding a student toward higher education, equipping a local youth with modern, employable skills, or leading a community-driven social campaign, LAC is building an ecosystem of support. Our work stands as a testament to the belief that when given the right guidance, resources, and equal opportunities, every person in Ladakh has the power to shape a prosperous and meaningful future for themselves and their community.

To bring this vision to life, our mission is to empower the people of Ladakh by creating robust opportunities for learning, continuous growth, and absolute self-reliance. We are deeply committed to strengthening our communities from the ground up through inclusive, practical, and sustainable initiatives that ultimately build a stronger, healthier, and more confident Ladakh.

Our Core Team & Foundation of Trust

Officially incorporated on May 2, 2023, as a recognized non-governmental entity under the Companies Act, Ladakh Academy Confederation was established with a clear mandate to focus on Social Work Activities. Under the visionary leadership and guidance of our founding Directors, Mr. Ghulam Mohd and Mr. Ajaz Khan, LAC has grown from a shared idea into a structured force for social good. Our operational model prioritizes regulatory compliance, financial discipline, and measurable on-ground impact. By maintaining active status with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and upholding strict accountability, we ensure that every initiative we undertake, every donation we receive, and every program we execute is rooted in the deep trust of the communities and partners we serve.

Volunteers : Heartbeat of LAC

While our core leadership provides the vision, our volunteers are the true driving force and the very heartbeat of the Ladakh Academy Confederation. Reaching the grassroots level in a geographically challenging region like Ladakh requires immense dedication, and it is our volunteers who make this on-ground impact possible.

Our volunteer family comprises passionate youth, educators, professionals, and everyday citizens who selflessly dedicate their time and energy. Whether they are mentoring students, assisting in skill-building workshops, or running community awareness campaigns in remote villages, their hard work ensures our programs reach the last mile.

At LAC, we believe that sustainable change happens when we work with the community, not just for them. Our volunteers bring invaluable knowledge, empathy, and deep connections that make our initiatives truly successful. You don’t need a formal title to make a difference—if you have the passion to serve, we have a place for you.
